Title: Lucky Daiquiri!
Post by: GrindCustoms on August 18, 2012, 12:25:36 PM
Madbean's Smoothie

What a nice feeling to plug that thing and having it work on first shot! :D

I did'nt bought matched FET, only had 10 2N5457 on hand, put 2 of them in there, got signal but no «real» effect.

Kept one in place and swapped Q2 until i got some phase going, out of 8, 4 made a sound, 1 match did a really really nice sound, i then bias...... and...........SSSSSwwwwwooooooooossssshhhhhhhhhHH!

Freaking awesome, my first phaser, really happy! Can't wait to build FC Causality..... 8)

I'm with everyone else - your enclosures are always awesome.

Thanks guys! Glad that my junkyard art pleases you..hehe ;)

The worst for this one.........his that i wanted it to be solid orange with some silver splatters..., but i forgot that the oven was set at 450F.....for some bloody hammered bubbling enclosures....

So it made bubbles......Hahaha, scraped the top of the enclosure with a paint stick and TADAM!!  ;D

It was at least orange and silver.... ::)

I posted a clip in the video section

Creative thinking or lack or ressource...hehe

I got my bunch load of FETs, so i'm going to install a proper matched set in it :)

It would increase part count, but it strikes me as odd that I haven't come across build reports with separate biasing for each FET.

I mean, most valve amps have one bias supply for both power output valves (or all 4, in 100W cases), but occassionally you see ones with dual biasing, where the power valves don't need to be matched.
