Title: Cherrybomb Volume
Post by: irmcdermott on November 04, 2010, 10:58:41 PM
So, let me preface that I am horrible when it comes to breadboard. But I gave it another try and laid this one out on my little protoboard setup.

I have signal, but when the effect is engaged I get barely any level out of it. Meaning, when I first engaged it, I thought it wasn't working. It seems that the lower that the Gain pot is, the more volume I get out of it. Debugging is not my forte, so I need a little help tracking down the problem... Thanks!

I would look at transistor orientation first. Check voltages across the pins and see if they are in range (high on collector, less on base and lowest on emitter).

Well, I left out C4 and R6.... now I have the volume but it's all sputtery, and fades in and out.

That sounds like a biasing issue. Double check to see if you have correctly attached R1, R6 and R13 to the collectors of Q1-3.
