Title: 22. MANGLER PNP Si Fuzz Face
Post by: Liustucru on September 26, 2012, 08:39:35 AM
Hi,
I built this Mangler some time ago and I finally boxed it up recently.
I first built it for a pair of PNP AC128 but I wasn't happy with the sound.
I chose to put some Si PNP trannies in it for a different character.
I had some 2N2907A and I am quite happy with them.
More gain, less compressed, more highs but a bit harsh.

I add a vero -9V inverter.

I used stamps for the knob labels. I like the yellow and black contrast.
Here come the pics:

Cool!  You're getting great results with those stamps.

Thank you !
I asked Brian how he labeled his Kingslayer and he told me about the stamps and ink (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=5187.0)
Very addictive  ;)

I just picked up some of this the other day! Again, after reading Brians thread. I tried it yesterday but when I pressed the stamp down it slid, giving me a nice big smudge mark......

Yours looks great!
