Title: What version Tone Bender for a Mick Ronson sound
Post by: Guybrush on September 26, 2012, 06:47:41 PM
Hi all

Just been watching this and fell in love with that fuzz sound:

A quick Googling says he was a big Tone Bender user so I'm guessing this is what can be heard in the video.

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend the best DIY version to get Mick's sound?

Thanks!

Based on when he was playing, I would guess start with silicon versions.  Be sure to cock your wah too.  Love his first solo album.

Wikipedia states a MK1 was what he used.
Discussion here suggests he had a custom, prototype, or otherwise unique version.

Cheers guys!

Looks like I accidentally found a widely discussed topic.

I'll look into Madbean's Pastyface and see which version I like best.

Thanks!
