Title: Great cover song
Post by: CK1 on November 24, 2010, 03:46:41 AM
Not sure if this is something that should be posted here or not, but I'll gladly remove it if asked.
Anyway, check out this amazing cover song.  You'll all know the original, though this one barely resembles it.

That arrangement is insane! Very Zappa. Not really an Eminem fan, but what they did with the chorus is sick. I love the chords.

Loved it.  Glad I wasn't the only one thinking Zappa there.

Here's a favorite of mine that uses that whole "re-harmonization" trick. This arrangement is totally mesmerizing (if not a little over the top)

I first saw that video through the EHX website advertising their vocal harmonizer pedal. My wife loved it, which is unusual.

I love the whole thing, but the chords and vox on the chorus are the highlight.  Very Jamiroquai, to my ear, at least for that part.  Zappa-esque for the overall arrangement, for sure.  They're also big fans of Dream Theater and Queen, so I hear those as well.

That was different, but very cool, too.  I love the original, so anything done to make it a bit more exotic is extra cool.

For the record, I can't stand Eminem, so my admiration is ONLY for the cover version.    ;D

Then you need to hear Coltrane's version. I've had that one in my head for weeks at a time....which is why I don't listen to it anymore.
