Title: Egodriver 100R resistor
Post by: mandrewbot3k on December 23, 2012, 05:54:34 PM
What is the purpose of the 100R resistor in the Egodriver circuit at the power source? Why the voltage drop before pin 8?

Series resistance with a power source produces a low pass filter in combination with the filter cap which helps reduce noise, especially in higher gain circuits.

Interesting. Makes sense though. I noticed the quasar i just built didnt have it, so I was a little confused, but that would make sense, being that its low gain.

you can typically add a small resistance like that on pretty much any pedal, it's a useful strategy to help reduce noise.
