Title: Slow Loris capacitor question?
Post by: stevie1556 on January 03, 2013, 09:56:02 PM
Just built a Slow Loris. Loving the tones I'm getting from!

I'm a bit confused with C9 though. On the build doc is says to use a 1uF box film cap, but I was wondering why. I didn't have one so I socketed a electro cap instead and wondered if it would have any effect on the tone.

An electro will be fine there as long as the plus lead is toward Q1. Poly caps have better tolerances and are generally perceived to sound better.

Thanks for the answer. I'll stick a few poly caps on my next parts order and see if it sounds any different. I put it in a socket in case I needed to swap it over just in case.
