Title: Japanese Beetle (vero macheen)
Post by: MattOcaster on January 25, 2013, 08:23:48 PM
Hey guys,

Made a promise to box up all of the worthwhile assembled circuits I've had sitting in my drawer for a year.
Hence the Japanese Beetle! :D Finally borrowed a decent camera as well.

Making the enclosure: (left it in the sun to get the cracks - worked well!)

Awesome job on the crackle! I could NEVER get my attempts at that effect to come out like that. I really love the splash color, too. Two-color cases are teh hotness as well.

Thanks guys!  :)

I'd love to say it's all skill but any good results I've had are from when I've tried really hard to do something, and by accident something entirely different happens - in this case the cracking of the white paint.

Where is this schematic based?  It sounds very different than my Madbean version.  Much crazier?
Any ideas on the difference?  To be honest, it sounds more like the real Zvex.

Just used the one from TagboardEffects.
I'm pretty sure they'd all use the same schematic.

There seems to be a very small useable of "crazy" on the input gain pot.
Ie it all bunches up on the last bit of rotation, so I just always leave it at max.

The clip in the vid (fast quick notes) really did make it sound insane tho!
