Ordering parts for the road rage charge pump and need to verify if this 15v voltage regulator is the correct one from tadya.
The BOM calls for 7815T, but the one at tadya is L7815CV. Is this basically the same?

While you could possibly use it in the circuit, it will not fit on the board. You would have to mount it off board somewhere and insulate it from the enclosure. This is a TO-220 style case and what you need is a TO-92 style case.
I would check elsewhere if they don't stock it.

According to page 4 of the Bom,if you are using it as a charge pump for 18v,you don't need ic2 anyway.that should help alleviate the troubles of finding it.

I need it for 12-15v usage.
yeah, I think you should be fine with that regulator from tayda. just order more than 1 in case you get a dud.

Jim, this is actually incorrect. The RR is made for a T0-220 style regulator mounted flat. This is assuming you are not also using the "SAG" trimmer.
The 7815CV is generally what I use for a T0-220 type regulator. The T0-92 style is fine, too. It just depends on what you are powering and what the current requirements are.
Ahhh... glad that I can use that huge TO-220. The price is cheap, so I ordered enough to make about 10 RRs :)

Yes, that's the T0-92---same as the regular transistor casings we use. I have some of those as well.
Brian, I was looking at the older version (way back, before the SAG pot was used) that only used the TO-92 reg. My bad, sorry!

I was just reading the RR docs, and it stated to use "SCPA" Max1044 instead of the "CPA" marked ones. This is due to whinning noise, but I've read the data sheet for the Max1044CPA which has boost function to remedy this problem. Did they revise the Max1044CPA have the feature that the pevious Max1044 did not have?

I beleive, the 'S' only applies for ICL7660 and all MAX1044 chips are fine.

Okay, yeah it must be the ICL one that has the S designation. But, also the TC1044 one that I use too.
It's been quite a while since I've had one of the MAX ones since they are the more expensive...or used to be. I will amend the doc.

I still have a mental block when it comes to mouser... largely due to shock induced by shipping costs.
Small Bear also charge like wounded bulls when it comes to shipping, but they sell stuff that is a flippin' nuisance to get anywhere else.
