Title: Neutron Envelope Filter (MB Nautilus)
Post by: Stomptown on February 20, 2013, 07:25:22 AM
Here is my latest build, which I am also submitting to the February contest. I still need to mess around with this thing to fully understand how to use it, but it's pretty dang sweet. Definitely some unique sounds coming out of this thing. I also added a 3P4T board that I made in eagle which made the wiring really clean. I used the board to wire up 2 tri-color LED's that change with filter mode and turn off when pedal is bypassed. If people are interested I will post a copy of the layout with instructions on the forum.

Just one more reason, i'm not competing in Feb build off ;). Hopefully everyone will outdo themselves in February and i'll be in with a chance for March, Dreaming!!! Very impressive mate, Matt.

Hi

I find very nice your stomp, i have a question: which is the material  that you make etching? how to make the etching?

Thanks a lot

Hi

I used a galvanized roofing shingle that I picked up at Home Depot (hardware store) for the face plate and etched it with ferric chloride PCB etchant. I used metal snips to cut the metal sheet to the right size and then I sanded the edges and corners. I also sanded the galvanized coating off which took some time. You can definitely tell when it's gone though. It will look uniform and really nice. I used Press n Peel Blue to transfer the artwork to the face plate. After transferring the artwork to the faceplate I masked the toner with model paint and let it dry. Then I etched the board. The hardest part is drilling the holes because the plate is pretty thin. Maybe practice on an extra piece of metal before trying it on the final product. Here is a link to some pics that show some of the process I used: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=8416.0
