Title: Removing Fuzz from an Octavia
Post by: bassybeats on February 27, 2013, 03:26:50 AM
Is it possible to remove the fuzz section from an Octavia pedal? I have a 3 knob tycobrahe (however it is spelt) clone and want to remove the fuzz part.

Is it do-able?

man, that's a fine question! i'd like to know if that's possible myself! i'm gonna look at the Retrograde build and see if it's possible.

I'd guess that deleting C3 and the Fuzz pot first, and then playing around with R7 and R8 (maybe replacing them with a 100k pot until you get the sound you want, measuring that, putting a similar resistor across R7 or R8 and jumpering the other.) Or if you get the sound you want with the fuzz knob turned down, replace it with a 1K to ground.

Just a suggestion. Tthers Who Know These Things may start shooting me down now.
