Title: Ribbon Cable Interference?
Post by: Zerstorte Zelle on March 15, 2013, 09:08:09 PM
Wondering if anybody here has had noise issues using ribbon cable for off board wiring? I'm thinking of tossing some onto my next mammoth order. I figure it should streamline things some.

Thoughts on the Chandler stuff they have would help too.

Rock it,
ZZ

I use ribbon on almost everything. I think it just depends on the amount of gain in the circuit, and whether or not you can avoid crossing any power wires.

You could wrap a ground wire around the ribbon to guard from rf, but it's unsightly.:)

power wires are typically only an issue when they are carrying AC. DC lines do emit an electric field, there is no noised caused because there is no time changing signal.
