Title: using power supply question
Post by: danwelsh on March 19, 2013, 03:21:05 AM
Hi guys, just a question about powering pedals....i am wondering if its safe for the pcbs big muff pi,zero point micro, r2g2, and thunderpuss to use a power supply outputting 12 volts?

It depends entirely on the components you use. If you use parts rated for 12V or higher (ideally at least 16V, but 25V is even better) than you're fine.

Whether it sounds good is another question.

yeah, everything i'm using for components is 16v or above....i tried it and it works and sounds fine....actually notice no difference in sound with a 9v battery or the supply(it's labeled 9v but i tested with my dmm and it's coming out at 12v)....just making sure as i have too much work in my 4 in 1 to blow something up, thanks Jacob :)
