Title: Pot Nut and Washer
Post by: gtangas on April 07, 2013, 05:05:19 PM
Hi Guys

after a week or two of using the pedals the pot nuts are loose!

i´m using pots from tayda.

When i finish the build i give to all the nuts a nice grip but after a week... they are loose!

If i force it to much the washer star to push the graphics/decalc

Tips?

i'd maybe try a lock washer on the inside of your box.

from inside? so by that you are saying that the cause of this maybe some gradual movement from the pot?

iap! it happens on my two last builds!

maybe the clearcoat is to thin... because when i give it a really strong fit the sticker starts to ripple around!

I would suggest more clear coat, and more time to harden before you put your hardware on if the decal is creasing..

You're supposed to melt faces, not the decal!

that bunching up of the decal when you tighten thing up, generally happens to me when the clear coat is too thin, or perhaps you used something that is too soft even when it's set.

I used to have the same provlem with the decal bunching up if i tighten up too soon before the clear sets.
I use holtz clear laquer, 1 thin and 2-3 heavy coats, leave dry for 48 hrs and i an tighten the pots just fine.
