Title: Tonebender MKII bias problem
Post by: Kinki fuzz on April 30, 2013, 09:00:16 AM
...or I believe the problem is that, at least. When the attack pot is below middle position, I'm having a "gate" effect, when sustaining a note you reach to a point where the note disappears abruptly, I guess you know what I mean. What do you think is the guilty? ???

I came to the solution of playing above middle attack, of course  ;) but I think I should take a little more care to tune it right.

Help?

Thanks!

What bias voltage are you getting from Q3? I would start there and take note.

Remember bias settings are whatever you want to set it at but most like the MKii at ~6-7v

David Main (of D*A*M) measured vintages ones and said he found between 7.9-8.6 volts.

Q3 C: 8.6
Q2 C: 8.5
Q1 C: 2

Wait-Wait-Wait!!!
With the attack at max Q3C is 4.7v, at min is 8.9v, thing get bad above 8,5 more or less

Does that make sense to you?

Maybe I'm doing stupid questions, but hey I'm still a diode destroyer! :P
