Is there a way, and had anyone succeeded in going this? Could it be as easy as adding a taptation pcb?

You need a chip that can drive an LED at varying rates and depths. The Taptation is probably not suitable, and in any case it wouldn't have the chop control. The TAPLFO is what you want, but you might as well just build the music PCB Tap Tempo Tremolo. The dry path isn't that different between them.
Thanks, . Jon.
It was worth a shot....I've got a couple of these boards I've etched laying around, . Plus two STM's ....figured maybe I could doll one up with tap capability.
Ah well.
