Title: Shoot the moon pot values
Post by: hoodoo on June 17, 2013, 10:58:54 PM
G'day to all, I've recently picked up a Shoot the moon PCB and have used all suggested values from the BOM, however reading through the various forums about this build, it seems that there are other value pots that work better than what's listed. So, i was hoping to hear from those that have built one that they are happy with, and would like to know what values you used, thanks, Matt.

This is what i've used on most of the STM i've built:

Volume: B5K
Depth: B1K
Shape: B500K or SPDT On/On Toggle
Speed: B250K, C250K could be really nice.

Tayda LDR and 3mm orange diffused LED for the optocoupler.

I used a C100K on my last STM and like it a lot more than the suggested B100K. It gives you a lot more control over the faster speeds which I find useful...

C-taper is actually better for the Speed control. I find 5K to be quite useful for volume, but others have found that they need a 10K pot to get above unity. Depends on the value of the LDR and how it interacts with the LED you've chose.
