I won't post mine as it is a mess!!! After a few recent Tayda orders, I have more components than will fit in the small plastic tray/container I use to contain miscellaneous parts. I need to upgrade to some better and more practice store containers/pull drawer boxes so I can be better organized. Any suggestions on container types? And do you keep all your resistors in separate containers? I imagine that is most practical but also may require lots of storage as there are lots of values and types of components.

I've been building more pedals lately but I don't do it constantly. I don't need (and don't have room for) a whole work bench setup, just maybe some boxes to store and organize everything.

Hi ! I really like this kind of organizer (pic1) because they are very useful to always keep stuff close to your hands and eyes......but for somebody who doesn't have much space and just wanna separate parts of the same kind......those and very good too.....(pic2).....

One thing is sure.......when you want to start a new project, it's very motivating when your parts are in order and ready to use......

Probably not too helpfully for you, but I got one of those from my local non-chain hardware store.

Magazine holders, ziplock bags and cardboard strips. Does not take too much space, but everything is properly stored and easy to find.

Type "organizer buy (your country)" in Google...you'll get it !!

I use storage containers like johnnyrockgear's. If I had to do it all over again, I'd use the envelope method for passives though.

I use 4 of these. I think I may need a 5th one soon though as I'm running out of space! They have bigger ones on ebay so I'm going to probably be ordering one from there in the near future.

For caps, ICs, transistors, LEDs, Vactrols, bezels, I use a couple of organizer units that Stevie's got shown there.  For pots, stomp switches, and knobs, I use four Stanley FatMax organizers, which are deeper than your average Plano type box, and snap together so when you hide them under your build desk, they're one unit.  For resistors, I ziplock them into categories (under 100R, 100-900R, 1k-9.1k, 10k - 91k, etc, etc) and store them in a clear sterilite container.  I've got a couple of small sealable containers lying around the desktop for random parts which end up on the work surface after a build and don't find a home.

I got mine at lowes (3 of them) I label all the small drawers for resistors and caps & use the big drawers for misc crap, pots, etc...

I finally got around to doing this the other day and I'm really pleased with the results! I breadboarded/built to circuits pretty quickly and having the passives organized for easing access makes the whole process a lot easier. Thanks again for the suggestion..

These envelope systems are brilliant!

I've just recently started stocking my drawer cabinets (like Stevies) and realized what a pain it was going to be when I needed to insert new values....

I'm going to have to consider this in the near future.

I store most of my small parts here. The MG-15 is the test amp, on the basis I don't care if it blows up, and therefore, it's probably not going to.

Except when they're here, next to the desk (typically the values I need for a project coming up -- the bag there has resistors for my moog filter.) Most of the bags are more hardware type things, and out-size capacitors (1000uF and the like.) The box has pcb mount pots in it.

I like the raaco cabinet organisers.  I have used the cheap ones and they are just annoying.  Jam all the time, plastic will crack because its brittle etc.  Also the 2 raaco cabinets I have bought were the same price as the 'cheap' one from my electronics store, except hold nearly DOUBLE the capacity.
