Title: Simple Electronics Question
Post by: JammyDodger on February 01, 2011, 01:39:58 PM
Hey All,

I have finished a pedal and I used 'Super Bright' LEDS in it.  They are way too bright.  Is there a way to turn them down?  Can I change the value of the CLR?

Cheers, Mike

Yep, changing the resistor will affect the brightness.

That's exactly what you do. Pop in a higher value resistor to tame the super bright beast. I typically go with a 10K current limiting resistor but sometimes higher if needed.

if you are using the clear bright leds always bump up the clr to 10 or 12k.  4k7 just ain't gonna do it.
