Got a pair of these inverse action tweezers the other week, thought they'd come in handy. Never realised just how useful they are. They're perfect for holding components for soldering. Straight ones are good when you start, then when the board gets full, the angled ones can get to pretty much anywhere.
I totally recommend if you haven't got a set, go get some NOW.

those look very helpful, where did you buy those?
Picked them up from eBay. Only cost a few pounds.
Yeah, I could use something like this. It would come in handy for certain sockets.
I just bought these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360120279094&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT). Pretty fair price considering the free shipping.
Only thing is, there's no picture of the item. But they seem like they would be the right tool for the job...

No kidding. Those SIL sockets can be such a pain!!!
I just got mine in from a ebay purchase. Every bit as useful as it looks in the pictures. thanks for the recommendation
I got mine at Princess Auto up here in Canada but you should be able to find them at a variety of shops. They are a Lifesaver, ESPECIALLY for sockets.
