Title: Muddy Pharoah

I'll admit to a few flubs, I didn't have any on-off-on SPDT's on hand, or the Ge's I wanted for the other set of clippers.

Nonetheless, this is a very focused muff, seriously nice. I need to get Ironbird's opinion on this one, I like building high gain stuff but I'm crap at actually playing through the things.

My D9D diodes turned up, so it now has a Ge/nothing/Si switch for clipping.

Ge side is fuzzed out stonerrific. Some volume drop, but that's why we have a volume knob. Nothing is LOUDLOUD. Si is somewhat harsh, and focused.

This has become a very flexible muff, with the diode addition :)

Hey man.

Here's a question I've never asked but don't know the answer to.

When we have clipping options such as " Ge/nothing/Si " what does the nothing mean?

I have the "nothing" option on my Slow Loris, but it still clips and distorts.

In this case, it means that there are no clipping diodes attached to... Q3, I think. The Q2 clipping diodes are hardwired for the Pharoah, it's the Q3 diodes that are switchable.

In the case of the Slow Loris, I can only guess that if you're on nothing, then either IC1 or Q1 are distorting. Flicking the diode clipping on should drop the volume a bit.
