Title: green bean gut shot
Post by: danwelsh on December 07, 2013, 02:43:25 AM
here is the gut shot of my green bean.....you'll notice the leads on the tantalums are a mile long.....there's a reason for my madness lol......when I ordered parts I screwed up and ordered the tantalums pictured which are not what's supposed to be used for this circuit....so when I was populating the board I used bipolar electrolytic 1uf caps which worked fine but I never took into account the height so when I boxed her up they stuck up too high so I cut em as short as I could then soldered the tantalums on there....I know I should have completely removed the others but I've had too much bad luck ruining solder pads on pcbs and damaging surrounding components.....hence the way it is.....but it works and that's all that counts. ;)
