Title: Making a Nutrino a little less bright
Post by: Rich_S on June 01, 2010, 04:09:22 AM
My buddy called from St. Louis - he says the Nutrino I built him is too bright. I built the "Black" version.  He says he runs it with the Glass pot all the way down, but he wishes it would go down just a little bit further.

Problem is, he lives halfway across the country, and we don't really want to ship it back for a quick fix.  He says he can do simple soldering, so whatever change we make has to simple.

Suggestions?

Increase C4 to 220n.

I got same sort of problem....though i'm happy with the Burst high-end(glass),but the problem seems to be the low-end.....
When i switch it on, it sort of cuts away a bit of the low-end....!

Otherwise i love it!!!!

If you want to add low end, I suggest the following: increase R3 to 4k7 and R4 to 47k. This will shift the frequency roll-off of the clipped signal lower, but preserve the overall amount of gain available.
