Title: transistor specs
Post by: cjkbug on April 16, 2011, 06:39:07 PM
I'd really like to see some info about what gain ranges I should be looking for on the transistors in the fuzz projects . I know trannies in different positions usually should be higher or lower than the others. but finding that info sometimes can be difficult. if that could be included in the build docs,.I'm sure it could make it that much easier to dial in a lot of these circuits. or if some of the builders know, Including the specs in build reports would be great.

That's a good suggestion. Definitely useful for beginners if they have a meter to measure the hfe :)
At the same time I feel like this is where you get to experiment and decide what you really like!

I've been wanting to put something like that together for a long time. Something like this only with pinout and hfe range.

I was referring to specific gains for the project at hand. finding the gain range is on the data sheets for each device which is simple enough to find. but I am wanting to see, for example " q1 for a triangle muff should be xxx" or "q1 should be slightly lower gain than q2" etc....
