Gonna make the write up short and sweet as this is my second attempt. The first one was long and pretentious and I just didn't want to post it.
These are my latest addiction. Lovetone FULL-SIZED clones in 1590D enclosures. All of them have full functionality and they all have Black PCB etched faceplates that were liquid tinned.
Some shout outs to my peeps that helped me through...
#1 Ian (LaceSensor) without whom none of this would happened. Inspiration and several emails later (I swear he knows exactly where the problems are) and I have some AWESOME Lovetone pedals!
#2 Jim (electricstorm) without whom the ??Flanger wouldn't have happened. Jim, along with Alanp and myself were involved with the ??Flanger re-birth. Most of the work was done by Jim. I hope things are better for you brother!
#3 Ben (rullywowr) who provided me with 2 of these PCBs etched as part of a trade. Spectacular work my friend!

There appears to be enough depth to mount it on the side.
Its easily done with standoffs.

no but its 55mm deep, which your enclosures seem to be.
the point is the board should fit mounted similarly to the way shown on my builds.

Possibly. I am having some switch popping issues with the Meatball currently and I may need to remove the "innards" to examine whether of not I reversed a lytic cap or something... :-\

The Latest addition to the family!!!
Lovetone Wobulator. Another special thanks to LaceSensor (Ian) for his assistance with this one. Used TL072s for the dual op amps and TL084 for the quad. Also used authentic OEP1200 transformers for the Outputs and Phase inverters.
Self-etched PCB and Carling DPDTs for the stomps. Had them sitting around and this was the perfect opportunity to use them! 8)
Decided to go with 30K/20M LDRs instead of the 20K/2M that are called for. Not really much of a difference when you figure in the parallel resistance but, these sound very deep and lush with all of the settings. Still need to test this out in stereo (on tonight's agenda) but the Mono is probably the BEST trem and vibe effect I have ever used! Why Lovetone stopped making effects is beyond me. THEY ARE ALL BRILLIANT!!

VERY wide range on the Depth. Goes from subtle bumping to THUMP!
The Rate pots are surprisingly incremented too! Usually it is pretty bunched up at certain spots on the rotation but this one is pretty even.
Wish I had a better quality amp to try the stereo mode other then my little Ruby build :-\

Id be tempted to make a "full size" one so if you do concatenate your files into a build doc I would give it a whirl, and try a few LED/LDRs in this to see if anything makes a difference to the tremopanation

I will plug in again this evening and post up some results on this. I will try to get specific on the Depth controls in my build.

OK. Just got done playing with the new toy!
I find that there is subtle Trem when the Depth is full CCW. There is a linear increase in Depth as I roll through 9 o'clock. It is a subtle increase but definitely an increase. It is more pronounced as I roll through 12 o'clock and up to full CW.
I would say that if you are hearing NO increase until you hit 12 o'clock then there is an issue. Or if there is no LFO at all at full CCW then there is an issue. I DEFINITELY get subtle Trem at full CCW.

sorry to be clear, the tremopanation do have a very mild modulation at zero depth, and it does subltly increase til 12 oclock where you get more of a trem happening. they just dont sound as deep or as good or simply as nice as the real pedal. its probably the LEDs/LDR

Figures though.... easiest of these to build is giving me the biggest headache! ::)
SO ANGRY!.... SO VERY ANGRY!!!!!
So, after chasing my tail for about 2 weeks with my Meatball build it turns out that I was just another Tayda victim!
Long story short... The LED bezel that I used for my RED On/Off LED was ordered from Tayda and is the PLASTIC variety. The reason I chose the PLASTIC type was because the LED leads are not insulated and I didn't want them to contact a METAL bezel and cause a short. WELL...... It turns out that the paint/plastic on the PLASTIC bezels is actually CONDUCTIVE!!!!!

The exposed Red LED lead was contacting the so-called Plastic bezel and shorting to the enclosure! >:(
So... lesson learned for all whom didn't know it. The plastic LED bezels (the ones that look like chrome metal ones) are actually CONDUCTIVE!!

Actually, the heatshrink on the bus is to keep it from contacting the Sleeves on some of the other jacks. (LFO Pedal jack)

The RING STINGER!! Fully functional and sounds AWESOME! One of the funkiest boxes I have ever used. The Octave Fuzz on this pedal is amazing! The use of the Drive, Timbre, and Blend knobs allow you to dial in anything from a mild OD-ish tone to full on Octave Fuzz MADNESS! But... that's not all.... switch over to the Ring mod mode and its chime heaven! Once you have gotten fully satisfied with your Ring mod... that's when you kick in the LFO to send it into new sonic territory! I played with this pedal for 2 1/2 hours and never lost the smile on my face ;D

I was going to settle for some Yellow mini chicken heads for the build but, after some arcane consultation from LaceSensor (Ian), he swayed me into making an exception and using the full size PINK to keep with the original colors.

I decided to use some 1N781A diodes for the Transformer/Germ diode network. All of them matched to around 0.37 Fv and it sounds SUPER TIGHT when in the Octave mode....

You will notice a small "jumper" soldered onto the trace side. This was a potential deal breaker when I first started debugging. For some reason the Octave Fuzz worked great but, the Ring mod mode and LFOs were terrible. After some hours of investigation, turns out I missed a trace on my layout. Luckily, it was easily fixed ::) When I offer the etchable transfers, this will be corrected!! 8)
Also, the electro you see on the trace side was a goof on my part too. Accidentally soldered in the incorrect value when populating and didn't catch it until sound checks. I took the easy way out and instead of ripping the whole thing out, I just desoldered, dropped the bad one out, and added the right value on the trace side.... so SUE ME! ;D
Only one more to go.... Cheese Source 8)

Would have to say that the RS build is probably the second most "complex" build next to the ?Flanger but... well worth the sonic capability! This thing rocks on so many levels. Bet it would be killer with just about any instrument!

These are top shelf builds, Greg!
These builds are extremely uplifting. Their graphics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've seen on this site. The original pedals seem to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially pedals like the Meatball and Ring Stinger. But I also think these pedals work best within the confines of the group, than as solo pedals, and I stress the word pedal. This is the ?Stereo Flanger, a great, great flanger, a personal favorite.
So great! I hope I can get up the courage to build a Ring Stinger one day...
Oh, and Greg -- try linking VCO Out to In/On (no guitar plugged in.) Noise-synth fun!

Yeah! This thing is a noise maker for sure. So very, very versitile! ;)
try setting the VCO freq very low, then using Freq modulation with a fairly low LFO rate, and medium to high depth.
Its almost like a step sequenced tremolo of sorts.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these boards are pretty BIG!
Around 185mm x 90mm. Definitely do-able but can be time consuming. I am sure some of our resident board etching experts can help but I encourage you all to DIY at least 1 or 2.
Close to release on these. I have the Cheese Source documents done. Just need to fab and build for proof of concept ;D
Also.. as a personal note... I hope that people try to tackle these. They are definitely worth the work and time involved. I have been involved in a few "larger" projects and it seems that they never catch on... MAJOR BUMMER! When you finish just one of them you will wonder why you never attempted them before. The whole purpose behind these full-sized clones was to see if I could do it and challenge myself but also to get around the "problems" with the smaller sized clones that have been done in the past.
I just finished my ? Flanger and had a bum trim pot on the daughter board. Now I have to order another and wait to test it out. It took a while to do the wiring, but wasn't ridiculous. If mine works, it will be proof that these projects are doable by the average builder. If it doesn't it means I'll be asking you, Lace and Alanp for troubleshooting help!

As far as the projects go... The Doppelgänger is Lacesensor's baby. The Flanger is Jim's (electric storm) both of these are available now with a bit of searching.
I will be providing build materials for the Meatball, Wobulator, Ring Stinger (6-knob version), and the Cheese Source. I will however, link the aforementioned 2 projects merely to keep them all together in one place.
I encourage everyone who builds these to post reports! :)
And these are the same to build as Bazz Fusses, check your components as you place them, check that they are in the right place (I checked against the component/pcb traces picture repeatedly for this) and take care as you go, and things work out. My ?Flange worked first pop with no troubleshooting needed.
Gearing up to build the Cheese Source and my question is about file sharing....
What is the best way to share the files for these builds? Each of the builds that I did the documents for have 3 files. A transfer, a component layout, and wiring diagram (Except the RS... that one has 3 separate wiring diagrams)
Just wondering what is the best method for sharing ALL of these files 8)

I present to you The Cheese Source.....
Build was pretty simple compared to the rest in the series. This bad boy can go from smooth boosted goodness to DIRTY, FILTHY FUZZ!!! Originally installed the stomps backwards (OK... wired them backwards but so what?) and also found a hairline cut in one of the traces which disabled the Tone control on the Source side. Fixed both of these problems and now she purrs like a kitten! Or.... ROARS like a wild beast!

In keeping with my original promise, I will be posting the completed "simplified" build docs for ALL of the builds I posted here. The files will include the spectacular build documents for the DoppelGanger (care of LaceSensor), the ??Flanger (care of Jim/electricstorm), and the other layouts that I revised. Mind you that the build docs for the Wobulator, RingStinger, Meatball, and Cheese Source will be very basic. Transfers, Wiring diagrams, and Component diagrams. Enough for someone to build their own but it will take a more advanced builder to debug. Schematics for all of these can be found online in some form or another.
I will post the link to the files in the Members Tutorials section TOMORROW. Hope to see some GREAT builds!! 8)

Yeah. I am currently trying to raise some funds to help one of my family members through a rough time. It was almost like it was NOT meant to be for me to have these unfortunately :( It was about a week after completing them that I got the news of the problems.
I actually tried to offer them all as a group, with a 1Spot to power them all, for a ridiculously low price (or ridiculous to me at least but... still pretty low) and I got no bidders :'(
I currently have them ALL up individually for different prices based on the trends of the resale of authentics (roughly 1/2 price)
Either way... I can always make another when I get time AND it allowed me to contribute back to the community which I haven't been able to do for a while 8)
Would you send overseas? I get requests all the time...

ABSOLUTELY. I usually send USPS International Flat Rate. Unfortunately it costs, on average, about $70 before insurance :-\ It also does not include any VATs, taxes, etc. but its the best option I have found for reliability AND price.
I'd be willing to work on the price though ;)
