Hey chaps,
Not had much time to build recently but stayed up late and soldered long into the night to get this one finished!
It's a Pharaoh Fuzz (Rullywow King Tut board - nice one!), can't wait to get to the studio and stick this in front of my amp!
Etched with NaOH as per norm, really happy with how the design on this one came out :)
In a massive enclosure because more doom.

Beautiful etch! Bigger box = bigger doom for sure. Lol
Mine never leaves my board. Enjoy it

Wow, i'm envious of people who can perform etches like that!
It's not just the etch, it's the photoshoppery chops to get the image in the first place. On ya.
That is awesome! Great design.
Great etch mate, so intricate :)
I literally dropped my jaw to the floor. F*CK man that's BEAUTIFUL
do you have the naoh thing written out someplace?
and is that graphic your contraption? so intricate, i love it!

Awesome clean etch! I bought some glossy photo paper and some NaOH to try, but the photo paper is too small for my printer and the NaOH comes in aluminium-covered-pearls...
thanks!
tried fecl3, worked fine. tried hcl, got away with a runaway reaction and messed up the kitchen sink. :)
naoh i havent tried yet, mostly because i cant get a decent toner transfer lately to save my life.
Most impressive, beautiful!
just WOW
That is very impressive! I liked how you took advantage of the bigger box and still was able to mount the PCB securely. It's a great sounding fuzz circuit for sure. Excellent work all the way around!
That is one bad ass etch! Nice work!
That is just badass. Great work.
I've seen so many amazing etches on this site, but that one is just stunning!
Thanks for all the kind words guys, much appreciated! :D
This makes me want to both quit and continue building. AMAZING etch! If it sounds as good as it looks then you have one awesome pedal on your hands!

Truer words were never spoke. This is awesome.
I just posted about this at DIYSB, but I gotta say it here, too ...
Daaamn! What a masterpiece. Amazing work!
Truly exceptional build! Kudos!
Really, is a masterpiece!!!
Amazing
Astounded. Astonished. Amazed.
Outstanding!
I just ordered some caustic soda without aluminium covering, now I only have to find a place where I can print the designs I've already made. If I get something as clean as this etch I'll definitely move from FeCl to NaOH
This is a real beauty. And this etch really justifies the bigger box. amazing work

I just have to ask, what do you mean by "aluminum covering"? How is that supposed to work (NaOH dissolves Aluminum)? Are you buying it as a solution or as solid pellets? I can only recommend to get it at your local pharmacy or hardware store in solid form. That way you can adjust the concentration and therefore the etching time/etching speed, etc.
And just a head's up, it won't work on copper pcbs, but will work quite good on aluminum as long as you sand it first to get rid of the rather thick oxide layer.
Hexjibber, the beauty of doom, you nailed it with this.

The product is STEX by Griffon, and the info says: "Aluminium-coated beads for unblocking drains." don't know exactly how it works though
That is beautiful
I sent Mark Wentz (the proprietor of Black Arts Toneworks) a link to this build because I knew he'd love it. His comment to me:
"That thing is all sorts of awesome. I'm honored!"

What an appropriate response.
Such a great job all around. Really blown away!!
Beautiful, epic etch work!!!!
Without question, one of the best etches I've ever seen.

Wow, that's cool! I really like Black Arts Toneworks in general, the aesthetic, the sound etc so getting a thumbs up from Mark is awesome!
Thanks again to everyone that has posted positive feedback, makes me want to get building! Got practice tonight so going to put the Pharaoh through it's paces! 8)
That is just outstanding work! That etch looks like currency. In fact around here your pedal is legal tender. Great choice on the LED color and placement in the graphic too, it all works perfect together in that "big box".
Hot damn... I'm speechless. Terriffic work!
I think my jaw just fell through the floor and bonked my landlord on the head.
Fantastic etch!
What is this style of art called? I've seen it before but can't remember.
Yeah, the detail of the etch and the backfilling was very well done on this one. Brilliant.
Jacob
Awesome.
