Title: Sacrilege - Fuzz Face in a Tone Bender case. Fuzz Bender?
Post by: LaceSensor on September 11, 2014, 04:22:52 PM
Hi guys

first build for me in quite a while; been on vacation and also had a lot of work on.
This is a build for my Dads 62nd birthday. In previous years Ive made him the odd pedal. This is definitely the coolest!
Its a fuzz face on a pedal parts PCB board, using gain matched (around 190hfe) BC108b metal can transistors.
I added 47pF smoothing caps just in case, and the output cap is 100nF rather than 10nF.
Its NPN, negative ground. I decided to keep it vintage and not add a power jack.
Case is a heavy (~1kg) Tone Bender mk1 enclosure from Pigeon FX in the UK.

Total build cost around £40. Sounds really good to me at least.

Here is the good stuff:

Witch! Burn it!

Hmm, I suppose considering the Mk1.5 Bender... :P

Looks really good! Nice 'n' tidy too, what's the quality on the enclosure like? Looks pretty damn solid.

Drill holes on the sides werent all as aligned as Id like, and stripped one screw.
Otherwise, the powder coating is great and the weight of the enclosures is hefty which adds to the quality feel.
Worth £25, in my opinion.

Very nice, though I'd have gone with Face Bender, complete with double entendre, as is

a) It's a FF in a TB enclosure
b) Used as a weapon, it would bend faces. :P

Thanks. It's dual core shielded, very convenient for this application
