Apparently, I did not seat the SG properly in its stand leading to this fiasco.
Oh man, I am sorry Brian. Heartbreaking.
Cody
NO! :(
Is is just the tuner that went wrong? I can't totally tell from the photo, but the headstock doesn't seem cracked.
Ouuchh... :(
Nah, no headstock problems. Just the tuner. Not the end of the world, but still...it's been years since I've damaged a guitar. Meh.
Brian, I fixed it for you and added a spare for next time.

Stay golden, Cody. ;D
That's still pretty lucky. I've seen many-a-Gibson broken off right at the nut.
I think I have fixed the tuner with superglue. Hooray!
Duct tape and toothpicks STAT!!!

If not, I can hook you up with some black epoxy.

You'll have to let it dry on a card table or it will lose its toan and sustain.::)

lol .. I hope this joke never dies.

If the temp fix doesn't work, I've got a spare I'll PIF you from when the same thing happened to me on a LP.

I'm in the market for some goop. Know a good brand (for hyping up a PCB)?

Yes, but I will not contribute to the gooping of guitar pedal PCBs.
Just say no to goop.
Although I can recommend some good black conductive epoxy. ;D

Not even to troll TGP?
I spent a while looking at the picture... "Where is the break in the headstock or neck?"
Tuners are considerably cheaper to fix!

All kidding aside, no. At this point, I think a lot of folks on TGP realize that they have been taken by boutique builders hiding things under black goop. I don't see any benefit in rubbing their noses in it. In fact, I think it could have a negative effect on the honest boutique builders that don't resort to shenanigans.

My plan is to make the goop the salient feature of the pedal. Along with about 3x more components than are necessary for the circuit, some dummy, some redundant. The values I've chosen are completely absurd. All value markings will be sanded or acetone'd off. The name of the circuit is HypeMachine!. With the exclamation mark. I already did the schematic. Just need to make a layout and acquire some goop. It includes a 'goop boost' switch, for more hype in your tone. The pedals will be sold for a reasonable price, with the understanding that the buyers will then list the pedal for insane amounts on eBay. At some point, I might secretly release some 'clones' of the circuit that are way off spec. Then I'll pop into threads to talk about how they're not accurate.
Or at least I'll fantasize about doing all this while I'm bored at work.

My 72' Custom did this back in the day! :'( I was able to fix it, and it's since been restored, but it still makes me sad...
That sucks but I'm glad the headstock didn't snap off. That happened to my friend's LP. I say you dodged a bullet.

*cough*JHS *cough*
Has JHS been up to no good? The last drama I heard with him was when he was bashing Devi Ever for some reason. That was awhile ago.
Speaking of Devi Ever, electrical tape should fix up a headstock real well. Even better than goop.

When I worked at DJM I remember receiving Pauls and SGs from Gibson with broken head stocks. Not to mention the countless people bringing theirs in for repair.
-I still own 2 gibsons myself... ::)

I've only witnessed one Gibson headstock snap, unfortunately, it was a mint 61 SG (not a reissue, it was bought in 61 by my buddies grandpa who kept it in a case in the closet, eventually gave it to my buddy along with a mid 60s Princeton). If he'd only invested $15 in straplocks.....
I love picking up a guitar, slinging the strap over, and two seconds later it does drop-F(loor) tuning.
