Hey guys,
So my buddy just asked me for a Boss ML2 clone. I want to build him something WAY more bad ass! I was thinking either a Chunk Chunk or a Brutalizer (rullywow). Ben doesn't have any of the Brutalizers in stock but I'll have to wait for parts from china anyways. My question is...Any other builds that give off an abundance of gain and face melting toanz? Thanks in advance

surh riot
I built MB's Triple wreck (etched board). It was awesome - really loved the EQ! Wasn't crazy about the boost though.

Didn't someone just put out some HM-2 PCBs as well?
Stacked?? 8)
i should probably tell you he uses a (cringes) solid state amp.
Triple Wreck def. It has the gain but the warmth of toan surprised me completely. It is the only one that kept the definition of notes without being harsh and fizzy. I haven't built them all of course but I'd say its a safe choice. Omit the boost and build a SHO or a LPB1 after it, it will kill.
Blue Monster!

It's great, but maybe, just maybe, doesn't have enough gain for what you describe.
Scramjet, similar ballpark:

Or TH's The Rage, though I can't comment on it, haven't built it, but Thomas' stuff is always good:

(Oh, out of stock)
All of these suggestions have certainly opened my eyes. I think it's looking more like an Upper Decker at this point. But i am very interested in the Blue Monster. I'll have to contact him to see if these are still available. Keep them coming tho.
Chuckbrick did a Boss HM-2 clone in SMD , who knows maybe he has an extra PCB.

I've done a through hole HM2 PCB as well, still got 2 left

Hm2 is definitely a facemelter

Funny, nobody ever cringes about using solid state effects pedals. Why is solid state acceptable for the part that has the biggest effect on your guitar tone, but completely unacceptable for the part that is just supposed to make your guitar louder?
