I've got a PPP dark orange sparkle enclosure that I'm going to drill as soon as I can. Any thoughts on how to label it? I'm thinking white will show up best and was going to give a shot at ZVEX/Jon Patton style painting. Anyone else have examples of good labeling on orange sparkle? Seems just a little dark for a black label and not sure I can print white.
I'd go with Papilio white waterslide decals: White Waterslide (http://www.papilio.com/white%20inkjet%20waterslide%20decal%20transfer%20paper%20media.html). You can also find on ebay. I'd probably think of it like an etch, text and graphic in white, with a black fill for the rest. I just did a decal for a Kraken this way and it turned out fantastic. I'll be posting the build report in a few days.

I'll post the pic back here this evening when I get home.
Black, white, purple (ew), light blue, and some greens. Orange is a ... challenging color.
Totally challenging... that's why I"m asking the experts!
What brand/type of paint do you use? Enamel?

I use Tamiya model paints, acrylic water soluble. You can get sets of ten paints for about $30-$35 off Ebay (there is a hobby shop in Michigan or Minnesota that I usually get them from). Then you need a durable clear coat.
I've painted a white shadow onto dark so a black decal will stand out. (Misted the shadow with green.)

Here's a layout that I'm doing for a Kraken. I'm using the Papilio Inkjet White Waterslide decal paper. Although this is going on an unpainted enclosure, I think you could get away with something similar for the dark orange. Just make the text white or a lighter shade of the same hue orange and it could look kind of cool.
