Title: Diode ID help
Post by: mandrewbot3k on January 19, 2015, 07:16:14 AM
I can't seem to find any markings on this. I remember buying them some time ago but don't know what they are. A little larger than a 1n4001.  Any help is appreciated. I think I picked em up at the time I built my timmy, ts808(landgraf) and Rc booster but was planning a muff build too.

(holding over my spark plug  I was populating.$

Thanks

I think it looks like a russian made D9 germanium type diode.
depending of the measured Fv you can use it probably in place of a 1n34a.

Cheers,
Panos.

Thanks panos. I was actually convinced it was a germanium 1n34a workalike. But I just couldn't figure it out.

1n34a from Scott's Electronics? (Or from me?) Measure the Fv and I can take a better guess if that's not it.

You're not going to get a part number unless you know exactly what you bought, though. Diodes are impossible to ID like that.

I'll have to check it later. I was just running through some stuff and was like, oh... whats this?

I think it might be a 1n34a. Can't remember why i bought those, or if thats just what was sent. Probably PPP or Small Bear, but maybe ebay...
