Title: 1 meg reverse pot in smoothie build
Post by: bigdaddymrx on March 05, 2015, 10:28:12 PM
Is it possible to use a C1M pot in the smoothie build instead of the 500K reverse pot? If so, what will the difference be if any?

It would work in a pinch. It offers more resistance so it will result in i think a quicker response when you turn the knob to increase or decrease the phasing.

At maximum resistance it may try to reduce the minimum speed below the point that the LFO can still oscillate, meaning ... it might stop working at lower speed settings.

You can change the capacitor (C8) to make up the difference; 4.7uF will get you pretty close. You will also have to double R25. Do that and you'll have the same range as the 500KC with a 1MC.
