Title: Total Recall
Post by: Jebus on April 11, 2016, 12:02:41 PM
Hey!

Its been some time since I've finished last pedal and made a build report. This spring has been really hectic. Well, today I got something ready! Here's my build of the Total Recall build on one of the prototype boards. I've been really slowly building it for almost five months, but finally today got it all wired up and ready. I still need to tweak the bias, but it already sounds wonderful!

Tall 1590BB, sticker paper and envirotex. I bought the knobs originally for Arcadiator, but I didn't like them on that. Led is hidden under the graphics. When I was mounting the led I think I accidentally pressed it bit too hard against the Envirotex. You can see the light making weird pattern where the Envirotex is bit lifted. Fortunately you cant really see it unless you look the pedal closely from side against light.

I'm using two Xvive MN3005. Originally was supposed to go with 4xMN3008, but when I got these I didn't feel like using the old ones. :P

Very well done!  The different colored knobs are a nice touch.

Looks great, and I bet it sounds great, too! I really like the little finishing touches like the voltage indication. Great work.

Cool build and really clean guts.

Where did you get the NE570? I'm having problems with the one I got from banzai, but I'm not sure yet if it's the chip...

Thanks everyone! It wasn't really tight at all because the board and the drill template were so well planned. Only thing I had to tweak were the input and output jack locations. On first try I drilled them too close to the back lid. ::)

Thanks, that's easily my favorite Memory Man color scheme. :)

Thanks! I got mine from Banzai too.

would you do me a favor and check the voltages on your NE570 please? I'm getting really weird readings and no sound after it and can't track down the flaw yet.. I've got a tech thread going for that

while building my aquaboy dlx I also got a faulty ne570 from banzai, never ever got anything bad from them and I've ordered lots. those are very sensitive it seems.

Jebus man, that pedal is just completely awesome!

Came out super clean. I never seen trimmers like those. Look like hands with thumbs up on them. lol

I am hoping to box mine up this weekend. I went for trying to get it in a 125BB since I am just not a fan of the tall enclosures.. They just seem to tower over all my other pedals. Damn my OCD!

Hahah, now that you say this its the only thing I see. Will be fun in future when populating other projects.. I have probably hundred more of those trimmers. ;D

They are branded ACP CA6 if anyone is interested. :)

This look beautifully,to use EHX power supply or homemade?
My proto pcb stay organ donation (40%),I have not good power supply.

Thanks! I haven't owned any other analog delay previously, so I'm probably not the best person to describe the sound. Also, I haven't biased this properly yet. But it sounds really good and very versatile! You can get ton of different types of sounds and the modulation is quite interesting. It also oscillates pretty early (around 2 to 3 o'clock depending on the delay time setting). You can also get really nice overdrive sounds if adjust the level setting. I can record some demos as soon as I get to visit our practice room and bias it properly with looper.

That looks mega I'm definitely having a go at an analogue delay soon.  I haven't owned one in ages.

Okay, this took way longer than it was supposed to, but finally tonight I biased it properly and made a demo! :)
