Title: Feels good!
Post by: GrindCustoms on July 04, 2016, 11:58:10 PM
Was making a while i had'nt build something to be boxed, quite happy of the turnout of this one. A formula similar to what i've used for guitar needs but now setup for bass use.

-Tuner/Mute Output
-RottenKomp
-Good Ol' Behemoth Bass Driver (Not to be confused with Tinnitus Ezekiel... this is quite different)

Rattle can, elbow grease and copper distressed knobs will always do me goods.

How did you do those counter-sink holes for the LEDs? Looks awesome.

Thanks man, i first drill a 1/8 hole as i do for every holes of the enclosure, then take my bigger step bit wich starts at 1/4 inch hole and simply countersunk drill until it looks good to me.

That is the best drive ever, never leaves my bass board. How did you wire the tuner mute out?

I wire the TunerMute/Out as i would do as if it was an effect, so the way i do it can be done with any type of bypass switching, mechanical, optical or relay.

It comes in as the first *first* effect in the unit, Input jack goes to the Main input of bypass media, Effect Send goes to a 1/4 inch jack (That will later connect to Tuner Input jack), Effect Return is tied to ground and Main Effect output goes to the following bypass media.

So you get a pop free, totally silent mute and takes out your Tuner from your signal chain (never saw the use of having a tuner in the signal chain as it's not there to enhance or modify the actual guitar signal) and spares a patch cable!

Thanks for the kind words about the Behemoth Jimi! Makes a while you've built yours and it remains :D

Ohhhhhh, you have 4 stomps, I see now, I thought I only saw 3. Genius. Are you playing bass for someone now, or just thawing out from the long cold winter?

I've built this one for a friend here in town, i have'nt been part of any music project for a while now or even jammed with friends... ...and that might be what i need now that i think of it.

I really like the way you finish enclosures. It's a great look.

Out of curiosity what's the behemoth bass drive?

Thanks!

It's a bi-polar supplied Klonish OD... ...similar to MB's KingSlayer, couple cap value change for bass use, retains pre-BYOC SilverPony tone stack values, Schotky clippers. It also have a MPF102 JFET clean boost at the end.
