Title: Xvive Memory Man in a 1590A
Post by: raulduke on January 04, 2017, 02:29:49 PM
Just noticed this looking at the XVive page at lunch time:

Xvive are making the BBD chips that we are all now using, plus Howard Davis (original Memory Man designer) works for them.

Could be very interesting  8)

EDIT:

Just found this quote from Howard Davis on TGP:

'The existence of this pedal comes as a surprise to me, as I was not consulted regarding any simplified design of the Memory Analog Delay - which is what it seems to be. From what I can see, it is the same as the Memory Analog Delay but lacks several of its features. As I do not even have the schematic, I can only assume XVIVE's engineers copied the filters and other essential circuitry without degrading them. Please direct any questions regarding this to XVIVE.'

Oh Dear... may still sound cool though.

Sounds like there is some drama unfolding here. I'll get the popcorn.

Xvive needs a good copy editor though.

What? Why?!

Everybody need to "cook the legend tone" every once in a while.  ;D

Personally I like the line that, "Echo Man applied the Xvive MN3005 BBD chips", as if they're some kind of topical anesthetic you squeeze out of a tube.
Could you please apply some of that germanium transistors to my fuzz tone as well? Spread it on thick.

I'm learning about medical abbreviations in pharma school. I got this:

AAA top. QS germanium transistor Ung. Q4H PRN fuzz tone. NB: spread it on thick.

which means: Apply to the affected areas topically a sufficient quantity of germanium transistor ointment every 4 hours as needed for fuzz tone. Note well, don't hold back.

you truly are a transistor tickler, what with the application of germanium ointment to sensitive fuzzy areas. :)

It also sounds like some sort of effects-based role playing game command:
-Echo Man applied the Xvive MN3005 BBD chips. +5 HP.
-Guv Nor attacks with DIODE CRUSH. Guv Nor did some damage!
-Poker Table casts Enchantment Spell. +$2,000.
