Title: Direwolf - Jfet JCM800 with High/Low input mod.
Post by: Willybomb on October 07, 2017, 12:50:53 AM
Gudday all.  Here's Direwolf, a JCM800 emulation using someones modded layout at tagboard.

While I've done the high/low input mod, and put a 2n5485 in the last position, I couldn't get the capacitor cut mod to sound as good as the uncut version.  It makes the EQ much more usable (in that you can now hear it make a difference), but it messes with the biasing for some reason and it sounds a lot fizzier, even after rebiasing.  Maybe I'm cutting the wrong one, but I'd rather have a good base sound than an eq I suppose.

As with every other build I've posted this week, it's painted with etching primer, slapped with a waterproof laser printed sticker, and given a couple of coats of Spraymax 1k.  Knobs are tayda, and the graphics and font was lifted/stolen/pinched/pilfered off the internet.  And of course, the led changes red/green with the high/low switch.

Excellent!  Great graphics and choice of knobs.
