Title: "Harbinger Two" Resistor Question?
Post by: dino_cupertino on April 18, 2019, 05:10:14 PM
I just began populating the Harbinger Two PCB and was wondering if 1/8W resistors are suitable for the resistor locations with the smaller footprint (R6-R7 & R41-R47 & R52-R54)? The shopping list calls for all 1/4W resistors but they don't fit well in these locations. Thanks!

Hi Dino,
Stackpole makes a cool 1/4 watt resistor in a mini format that would fit nicely in the resistor locations you mentioned.  Arrow electronics carries many of them and hopefully will help you with your build.   Just remember that the name of each resistor will start with RNMF.......here is a data sheet....

I do not know if the 1/8W resistors would be good for this circuit, but why risk it if you have to order the parts anyway.   Hope this helps.

1/8W should work fine for those positions.

At a glance the "hottest" tiny resistors would probably be R41 and 43 (2.2k), and even if they saw a full 15V across them it would only be ~1/10W of dissipation.
