Title: Dia dhuit
Post by: JohnZ on June 29, 2019, 01:10:40 PM
Hi, I'm John from County Kildare in Ireland.

Over the last couple of years I have progressed from building simple PCB projects through stripboard projects, and now to breadboarding my own fairly simple ideas.

I had only very basic understanding of electronics from my school days, so I am learning as I go.
I'm not so good with text books, but breadboarding has been really helpful for me in terms of understanding circuits, and even better for developing understanding around issues and de-bugging them.  The internet has been really helpful too, so it's about time I stopped lurking and said hello.

I also wanted to share a Fuzz schematic which I will drop into the Member Projects section.  My aspiration there was to create a very high gain fuzz that would roll off with the guitar volume and stay reasonably transparent to the character of the guitar and amp.  I ended up with a strong Octave effect at high gain thrown in for free.  It's definitely one to consider breadboarding yourself if you have a bit of time and the components laying around.

Eventually I want to create my own PCBs.  I'll likely have some questions about that later (I have KiCad downloaded and have started to play with it).

Anyhow, it's good to have thrown off the cloak, and I'll head over to the Member projects section now and post my schematic(s)
