Title: Auquaboy deluxe
Post by: Thewintersoldier on November 23, 2019, 11:06:06 AM
Aquaboy Deluxe with xvive mn3005s running at 9v. Went together without issue. Calibration went quick too thanks to the awesome build documents from Brian. Dymo labels and hammered paint per my usual diy simple aesthetics. Sounds so good thru my tungsten buckwheat. so much better than my old mxr carbon copy. Im setting this one up for longer repeats and my regular aquaboy for slapback. such a fun build.

Wow nicely done!

How does it compare to the sabrotone mode previously used with the aquapuss soundwise? Is it darker than the single chip version aquaboy?

Thanks, to my ears at lower delay time it's very similar to the aquaboy. Past the aquaboys max time it's much more pleasing compared to the aquapuss or other similar bbd delays. I play with a tweed style amp that's breaking up and most delays in front of it are too trebly and brittle or to dark and mushy. This thing is really balanced and it melds with my amp really well. And the modulation is a lot easier to dial in than my mxr or malekko delays I previously had. They were always seemed like they were all or nothing. Thanks for the perfect delay for my needs Brian.
