This is my first build. Finished the drilling a little hastily last night... soooo that's why it looks so pretty.
The pedal works but there's a hardcore volume drop. I'm about to be late for work but i figured i'd send these pictures first to see if anyone had any clue as to the problem from looking at the bottom of the board. If nobody can figure anything out, i'll post pictures of the top during my lunch break.
Any advice is much appreciated!

the reason the battery sticks out is because when i drilled the first hole for the input jack, i accidently did it too close so that it touched the stompbox... i wasn't sure if that was a problem so i figured i'd drill a little back.. but then that got too close to touching the battery. hence frankenpedal
The most common reasons for volume drops are incorrect resistor values and reversed transistors, although there are others. Luckily, those first two are easy to detect, as long as we can actually see the components in your photos.
When you have an opportunity, please post the following:
1. In-focus, well-lit, high-resolution photos of the board. I can't effectively read the resistor values on the ones in your photos.
2. Voltage readings from the pins of IC1, Q1 and Q2.
3. Any component substitutions you may have made. What chip, what transistors, what diodes?
4. Other than the volume problem do all other controls work as expected? Drive knob, Tone knob, switches?
I'll be happy to go over your board when you can get better photos up. In the meantime, please triple check all of your component values -- specifically R10, R15 and R17: those are R values, not K's, and that's a very common error. An accidental 100K at R15 would cause exactly what you're describing. Good luck!

IT WORKS O_O!!!!!!! I don't know why! but it works! i put the battery inside the case and i assume maybe it was a ground thing???? i also resoldered one of the wires connecting to the pcb but i feel like the solder joints were good... either way.. i can't believe how great this pedal sounds!! i'll post pictures of the finished pedal when its all painted and done... or i'll post again soon if another problem should arise. at the moment a bit of the input jack touches the stompswitch box.. i assume that doesn't matter so long as its not touching the components as someone earlier in a different thread kind of mentioned... ?
