So here's my latest boxed build. I have about four circuits tested but unboxed while awaiting enclosure finishing. This is a Mudbunny PCB, which I built to Green Russian specs, hence the Sovtek title. I meant to write "Soviet," but must have had "Sovtek" on the mind when I was writing on it. Anyways, this thing is pretty much stock as per the BOM, though I socketed D1-D4 for future experimentation. The enclosure is ODB Green from Mammoth. I tried so hard to keep the wiring really neat and at the last minute realized that I should have soldered the pot wires to the component side of the PCB for the neatest results. Ah well, it fired up first time without a hiccup; I'm pleased. ;D
Edit: Now that I looked at the photos, there a couple of leads I forgot to clip. :-\

I used a gold Sharpie fine point paint pen, which goes on pretty smoothly.
For anyone who's interested, I tried out a few diodes in this circuit today. Aside from the 1N914s that were in it, I tested it w/ BAT41s and 1N60s (have some 1N34a's around here that I can't seem to find).
The BAT41s gave it a raspier character and increased the fizziness, and they also seemed to increase treble (got trebly more quickly one the tone knob sweep than the others, that is). Overall, a more aggressive, biting tone. Reminded me more of the more recent Big Muffs I've played.
The 1N60s didn't sound that much different than the 1N914s to my ears, but did seem a bit smoother. The single-note sustain didn't seem to match up, but it was beautiful on chords. I generally enjoyed playing with these in there, but something was missing.
I ended up sticking with the 1N914s, as they seemed to be a happy medium between the attack of the BAT41s and the fluidity of the 1N60s. I did not switch up configurations, I simply subbed D1-D4 with each for testing. I plan to play with it some more when I get more diodes in and also have some transistors on their way to test out in this circuit.
Not sure if anyone is interested, but figured I'd share my results!

No problem. Now that I'm relatively comfortable with the basics of building, it is time for entering the mad scientist realm!
I saw your thread about the super Gruntbox build you're planning and look forward to pics and soundclips hopefully.
Yeah, my goal is to get at the final, a multi-muff.....
Modding and adding options to circuits is probably my favorite aspect in this hobby. :)
