Title: pedal volume too loud - sunking...
Post by: joshcamp on December 13, 2012, 07:30:02 PM
yeah, i know it's been discontinued... i built this one a while ago and liked it but haven't used it much because it's too loud !!

assuming i've wired it properly, what component would affect how much volume is fed to the volume pot ?
or is it the control pot itself that may be at fault here ?  I check the wiring, and all seems properly oriented..

This circuit should give unity volume pretty early in the rotation of the volume pot - between 9:00 and 11:00 depending on the gain setting. Is it too loud with the volume at 9 o'clock? Pics will probably help us solve this one.

I built a sunking vero version from tagboard effects and i had the same thing and so I keep the volume at around 9 oclock

You can change the volume pot from a linear to a log/audio taper style. That will bring the volume up more slowly on the first half of CW rotation of the pot. It won't otherwise affect the circuit.
