Title: led clipping ?

do you just replace the diodes (any, GE or SI) with 3mm leds and that is called led clipping ?

5mm works too. it may not sound great in every application, however.

I find LED's to be a little louder, more dynamic, and abruptly harsh in the treble register in some circuits.  If the circuit is kinda spongy, dark, and/or muddy with ge's then they might be an improvement.

I'm doing a muff based on green russian with led clipping....hoping to get kinda EQD hoof out of it:) what size LED would you recomend?  thanks:)

shouldn't matter, the Vd (voltage at which it clips) is the same. 3mm are easier to fit in a box.
