Fixed it. I had went over everything, but missed R3 should be 10k and not 100k. Swapped it out and it's all good.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Kraken Oscillation Issue
August 22, 2023, 07:58:37 PM
I've just finished up a Kraken/Mudbunny/Paralyzer combo that works a treat except for the hi setting on the Kraken. Worked fine till I boxed it up and only oscillated with the range all the way up. Now if I have enough volume in the guitar to start getting a decent quack it immediately goes into oscillation and I have to turn the range all the way down to stop it. I have all the controls at noon. Stock build with the manual BOM. Works fine on the lo setting.

Edit: I did try paralleling a resistor with R4 to bring it to 270R and a cap with C6 (across pin 6,7) to bring it up to 2n2 per another builder who had oscillation issues. Made no difference really other than changing the pitch of the whine.

Where does the paralyzer get power from?  Looks like you have the LED from the Mudbunny, which could work if the CLR is jumped.  Not sure I don't have the schematics.  Also, looks like you have the black lead going to the square pad on the paralyzer.

Fixed.  I had one of the returns on the Paralyzer incorrect as well. Hopefully this is correct.

Here's the Paralyzer connections. You're correct that the RLED would need jumpered and I have the +/- connections swapped on the Paralyzer.

What is the issue, it looks good.

Just wasn't sure if it was correct.

General Questions / Paralyzer connections
December 18, 2022, 06:09:44 PM
I posted this in the JMK section, but it doesn't get much traffic. I'm having trouble trying to connect two madbean boards with a JMK Paralyzer board to blend in the same enclosure. Bypass foot switches for each MB board FWIW. This is what I have so far, but I could sure use to help.

A little high end roll off. Doesn't need to be 27pF precisely. A 30pF or 33pF would be fine.

I ended up throwing a 47pF in there. Everything worked, boxed up, and the C100K pot went bad. Worked for like 5 minutes then nothing.  I don't have anymore 9mm pots in that range, but trying a 12mm pot just wired in it worked again. Time to make another order and not from Tayda this time.

What's the 27pF cap doing across Q2?  Just for oscillation?  I have all sorts of caps above and below 27pF is the reason I ask.

Does anyone have dimensions on these boards?  I'd like to place them both into a 1590BB but would like to make sure I can before I order them.

Just wanted to verify the NSL-32R1 is the same as just the NSL-32 designation?  I don't find an R1 version anywhere, not even on Advanced Photonix product pages.

Yes, they are the same.

Thanks!

Does anyone have the dimensions of these two PCB's? I'm doing some combo work and want to make sure they will fit in the enclosures before I order them. I like to do fit and layout in Inkscape before I start a build.

Excellent! Tight squeeze ther with the Pooh bearhug!

Thanks. Probably not a good first project, but it worked from the start. I'd build it all outside the enclosure now so I could hide the wires, but didn't think about it at the time.
