I just put together the deadringer 2 and I'm getting no signal past the input jack. I feel I've done this to myself before but cannot remember wht the issue is. My computer has been infected with some awful virus so I'm not able to upload pics right now but I'm workin on it. I wired it exactly as the diagram goes, with no extra grounding. Not sure what's up but when I probe it the audio signal stops abruptly at the input jack tip. I don't even get a signal at c1. Not cool. I'm quite sure that the issue is rediculously simple and embarrassing but heh, I'm no genius. Thanks for the help gents.

General Questions / Tc1044s same as tc1044spca???
January 16, 2014, 03:25:52 AM
I've recently put together a kingslayer and am having a very bizarre issue. Everything works as it should an I'm wondering if the tc1044scpa I used is slightly different than the tc1044s? Not a ton of info inline. Thanks guys

I just built a kingslayer and as I've had a klon and built more than a few klones, I have a pretty solid idea of what this is supposed to sound like. So I fired this thing up and it sound great. LED is working, bypass (I chose TB for this build), and all 3 pots as well as both mod switches are exactly as should be. The problem is that even when maxed out, I can't reach unity output, much less boost my signal. It is totally audible, but maybe 10% less than the bypassed signal. What the hell could be causing this? The signal is passing as it should through the whole curciut but I'm losing a lot of volume somewhere. Help? I'm working on posting pics, but it'll be a bit. Thanks guys.

General Questions / True bypass mod on 535q wah???
January 01, 2014, 11:11:35 AM
I'm sure this has been handled a dozen or more times before but I can't seem to find any info on this oddly enough. I've done a ton off d's on the GCB wahs (vocal mod, LED mod, true bypass sweep range, etc) but I'm having a hard time finding what I need. Anyone have the info or a link?

I've done some digging and I can't find anyone that's finished one of these? Anyone??

I have a krank pcb and threw it together a couple weeks ago and had 2 issues. The boost side when engaged pumps out a VERY reduced volume and when the distortion circuit is engaged I get zero output. I've taken this apart and rebuilt it twice as well as went through it with an audio probe. My signal died at the first transistor on the OD side and the only transistor on the boost side. So I reversed the trannies thinking that they may be backwards due to them being mosfetatu but not luck. Same result each time. I'll put aside time to take decent pics but the guts are a little messy now due to rebuild status. I know that lack of pics makes it impossible to diagnose from afar but am really just wondering if anyone out there has successfully made this bad boy or if any of the problems sound familiar. Thanks guys. I'll have a cam solid enough for detailed pics in a day or two.

So, I built a serendipity last night, debugged it quickly and it worked great. It was late so I didn't have time to really test it out. Today I wake up all excited to givebthisnthing a run and unfortunately, no output. Can't figure it out. If I can't figure this out by tomorrow I'll take some pics, but as always I'm impatient and hoping someone has some input on this odd occurrence. All wires seem to be solid, etc. I'll post back when I figure this out. Input always appreciated. Thanks guys.

I'm curious what the components are in the sustania and tri-boost mod pack from monte allums. I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Any help would beach appreciated.

I finished my serendipity build tonight and it worked as soon as I plugged it in. I switched it off to find some unity volume and as I switched it back on it had ALMOST no output. I can hear the effect as i think it should sound (although barely audible). When I crank my amp up and I can make out the wet signal all the pots seem to work as they should. I assume its a poor solder joint or something grounding out but I can't seem to find any poor joint or loose contacts. I have this bad boy boxed up but it is in a powder coated enclosure, so I'm not sure if that would cause questionable ground. I know the guidelines for posting as far a pictures etc. go but I've got to head to bed then off to work early tomorrow and will be putting in a couple consecutive long days. I'm hoping that one of the vets on this forum could give me a place to start before I go through the long front to back debug on this gem. Thanks for any help in advance.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Krankasouras signal path?
November 12, 2013, 11:13:29 PM
I recently "finished" this and  having some pretty decent issues. Looking for the signal path of both the boost and the distortion if anyone could help me. Thanks.

General Questions / No-color LED mod gcb-95 wah
November 12, 2013, 11:10:46 PM
I recently took my way apart and put a number of mods on this little bad boy and it is MUCH smoother and more vocal. I've made this thing true bypass and am putting an LED in it but I want to use a bi-color LED. Not totally sure how to wire it although I know it's pretty straightforward. I opted to throw it out here instead of trial and error on my own. Any help in much appreciated.

I just finished (kinda) a krankasarous from an etched pcb. I won't be able to upload pics for about a day or two and I'm very obsessive so despite not wing able to post pics yet I still had to throw this problem out there. So my question is this; this pedal is two separate circuits, one boost as the BSIAB type distortion. As of now the bypass works perfectly so I know the signal is passing through both switches correctly but when I engage the boost is get a very fuzzy signal that kind of wobbles unsteadily in volume. When I engage the distortion circuit I get nothing. I'm going to take a good hard look at it later (as every build issue I've ever had is because of something embarrassingly dumb) and see if something pops out as an issue. If anyone here could give me a rundown of the signal path through the whole circuit I would be very thankful.

I'm so close to wrapping up my krankasarous build but want to make surety LEDs are wired correctly. Any vets out there with some basic gospel??
