dont worry about pedals so much but anything running off the mains  should be treated with respect. I learned a lot from the weber amp tech videos.

Looking forward to getting these although I'm wondering if I should just keep them unpopulated in the hope they reach klonlike value in years to come.

This past couple of weeks I've been on a FNM trip, especially the last 2 albums.

Solid core is a great idea, you can also use the legs on rectifier diodes.

I get 1n4001s from tayda and peel off the tape from one end and solder them on to a pot then clip them off leaving enough so I can still use the diode. That way it's technically free

I love oshpark but my last two orders were hellishly slow to arrive.

on one of them the address label, which I presume is some kind of heat sensitive paper, was completely black. someone at the post office managed to make out my address and stuck a new label on it.
the next one was postmarked belgium.
portland > belgium > japan.
go figure.

they aren't vitamin Qs, theyre polarized. electrolytics?
if they are old they could be leaky and that maybe why the fuzz didn't work. could even be tants.

I just got this pcb from an electronics junk shop for (equivalent of) a dollar.
funky green caps,  germanium diodes and cool looking Hitatchi brand 2sc4541 transistors (no idea if they are useful yet).

Anyone else found some treasure in old junk? pics appreciated.

good suggestions so far but make sure you budget for a vocal booth/room treatment if you haven't already done so.

What hfe do you guys get on their 2n5088s?
Mine all measure about 330 which I think is a bit low isn't it?
They're the ones with a tiny "f" to look like fairchild but it's not the same font.

edit: I just read the datasheet and perhaps that's fine. I do have some other 2n5088s that are about 700 though.
