Thanks All  :)
I had the same problem, sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I bought a few from a local (Australian) pedal parts shop, they are all bad. They apologized and refunded, I ended using a v571d from Cabintech.

I've used Xvive MN3005's with great success. (Edit) and Cool Audio :)

Son of a bitch sounded dreamy then let out a death wail. Unholiness in the midst of my cloud like modulated world. I'll hit the IC's and see what see. Tomorrow.

Quote from: geekmacdaddy on July 23, 2025, 05:20:42 PMIt only has 4 resistors, one is 390k, (could that be the one?)

Is that actually a 390R coming off of the emitter?

So:

910k voltage divider resistor, between base and v+
100k voltage divider resistor, between base and ground
10k  collector resistor, between collector and v+
390R emitter resistor, between emitter and ground

Like mauman said, the 910k and the 10k should connect to v+

Thank you North Coast.
Correct. 390R. It's working but there is no boost. Vol control works when on/off switch is engaged, there's a slight change in tone (ala typical booster) but the max vol is unity. Thoughts?
Thanks for the help

The 910k hits a 100k and the Base of the 5088. other end is on the input jack

ok. the 10k doesn't connect to the 910k. it goes from jack to one side of the .1uf cap with the collector of the 2N5088.

Thank you!

Yeah, that's the problem. This has no 430k resistor. It only has 4 resistors, one is 390k, (could that be the one?), a 10k off the output jack, a 910k off the input jack, and a 100k.
thoughts?

Hey Jimmy!
Swapped it out, same. Don't have the spider sense for that relay.
Thanks

Tech Help - Projects Page / Schoolie 24 problem
July 22, 2025, 01:43:40 PM
Hey Guys and Gals
Voltages are all good on the big board but when I attach the daughter board, the overload LED just flashes. Made a mistake and reversed + and - on the DC jack at first, so I rebuilt the entire power supply. Even the 2N5088, but the LED is still flashing in the off position, and lights in a strained intermittent way in the on position. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

Dude please. You kept yourself alive. The community just helped a little to keep the lights on while you recovered. As many of us would do for anyone who is NotAGeek.

But, I will say: no more 8-Balls for you at the dance hall on Saturday nights.
No more 8 Balls????? Daaaaaaamn
