You learn something new every day, I didn't know it had any famous users let alone them.

Theirs had MN3005s in it, which I thought was strange.
Really? As far as I know it only used SAD1024 or R5101, I guess they must have had it modded for longer delay.

As far as I know, it only used the SAD1024 or R5101 as well. However there were also a bunch of NOS MXR M-118 PCBs on eBay a while ago where a guy adapted them to use a PT2399.  Adapting to a MN3005 would probably add quite a bit to the PCB. Any chance you could get a photo or 2 next time you go, midwayfair?

Also, Neil Young apparently uses the M-118 as well.

Open Discussion / Re: What are you playing? (games)

I've mostly been playing "Playerunknown's Battlegrounds" aka PUBG aka PLUNKBAT. Occasionally I'll play "Friday the 13th The Game" (PC), and even less often, my old favorite, "Don't Starve Together".

That's cool! For those who don't know, Andy Summers (The Police) and Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) were both users of the MXR-118.

I know at some point me and Keefe plan to do the old MXR green delay that used SAD1024 with tracking filters.

Count me in for this one! The MXR M-118 Analog Delay is a classic, was hoping someone would do this.

Hey guys, so I was waiting to get some parts in to finally build these and now that I have (yes I know its been a long time), I see that the PDFs are no longer online. Did anyone happen to save the PDFs?

THX!

Are these instruments really basses or are they baritone guitars?  The string size makes me think the latter.

But someone drank all the kool-aid:

::)

To save you from clicking the link it's (1) SAD1024A for $133.00 US Dollars.

That does seem suspicious, they should at least introduce themselves to the board.

Thanks for the replies. I found a very negative review of the GT308V on youtube so I opted against those. I went with a bag of 150 AC125z VI. Let's see what happens ....

Would love to hear how this turned out!

I feel like I end up writing this once a month, probably because there's so much misinformation out there about biasing a Tone Bender MKII compared to a Fuzz Face:

David Main (of D*A*M) measured vintages ones and said he found between 7.9-8.6 volts on Q3's collector.

Thanks Scruffie for posting those measurements with the other transistors too!

Great news! Looking forward to seeing what you guys can do!
