I'm in the uk and use 22 swg, 60/40 as solder of choice. Since Dr Tweak stopped trading, Bitsbox is a good source for everyday parts including this stuff.

Good luck!

Yep that will definitely work. It's also useful stuff to use on enclosures when etching if you either want to protect a large area quickly or touch up spots, just like you're doing here.
Good luck!

Does anyone have suggestions for a replacement material for the rubber foot tread? The original had VOX cut out of it. I routed the raised letters on the shell down flush and would like to cover

Skateboarders grip tape would do the job. Kind of like the stuff Morleys are finished with. Super grippy and easy to cut to size.

Thanks again Panos much appreciated!!

Thanks Panos, that's a great help.

Think R58 was causing me the headache!

Sounds like there are two approaches: jumper R58 and leave D1 in place or put a 1N5817 in R58 and remove D1?

Cheers!

Tech Help - Projects Page / Aquaboy DX diodes help
April 06, 2015, 01:55:57 AM
Hi all,

I'm a perennial lurker on the board and read as much as I can prior and after builds to try and resolve any issues. But with the Aquaboy being complex I could do with a hand on the diode config.

I'm building with MN3005s and MN3101 cock. NE570 commander and VTL5C3 vactrol. 15v operation through a Road Rage supplied with 9v (LT1054 on board). I'm following the other instructions (sockets, jumpers and correct resistor values) considering these part choices.

Question: given the approach above do I omit all 3 diodes? From reading up it seems that I should.

Seems like I've read the build doc loads but just wanted to check!!

Many thanks for any pointers,
Jeremy

How about an option to buy gift vouchers? This will help Brian with cash flow and help those who know you love Madbean stuff, but don't know exactly what to get as a gift? Just a thought...

Check your C3 and C4 too as they also look like they're in the wrong way round.

I was looking over Lace's Doppelganger board and was thrown by the resistors that were in place of the jumpers noted in the build doc.

It then dawned on me that these were 0R / 0 ohm resistors.

Quick question: Why / when would you use these, and what's the difference over just using jumper wires?

Cheers,
Jeremy

Open Discussion / Availability of Road Rage?
May 13, 2013, 04:12:26 AM
Afternoon all,

Just tried to order a Road Rage and when I get to check out my PayPal order says they are unavailable, despite being able to click the order button on the projects page. I guess they're sold out for the moment?

Brian, any idea when you'll have more in?

Cheers,
Jeremy

Nice use of the Paramore cover! Great work! And yeah, the wiring will improve over time, if it works, who cares?!
