General Questions / Danelectro Rocky Road with CE2 LFO
October 02, 2020, 02:30:45 PM
Drew this schematic and considered making a PCB

Decided to do a sanity check and ask for a second opinion, does anything about this schematic look wrong to you?

#2
OK this is weird, I changed the LFO ic and all the problems were solved
#3
This one is a doozy, so turns out the Wavelord I built has an issue where if you tap in a fast setting and hit the bypass it changes the tempo to slow for some reason, same when you turn a pedal before it on or off

I must say that I use an optical bypass in this one and a built in Klon buffer
#4
I had a feeling this is all you had to do

Thank you for this, really
#5
Brian, did I ever tell you that I love you?
#6
Its all cool man, you already helped me a lot here
#7
Thanks man, you are awesome

Also, I got a VTL5C9 and it sounds much better, there's a lot more depth
#8
Due to the oddities with the sine wave not turning fully off and another issue with the multiplier having an additional 1/4 division after the highest one I tried replacing the lfo chip which didnt change anything either
#9
NSL32R3 or NSL32SR3? Cos I just got the SR3 and no change

I also noticed that on the sine wave the indication led doesnt turn off completely unlike on the triangle or square wave
#10
I checked and I dont think it's the R3 version of the NSL32
#11
I replaced the 1k with a 470R and there's no noticeable difference.

General Questions / Re: Rustbucket Issues

The voltages are way off which suggests there's a short somewhere or a wrong component value

Sorry for stating the obvious, mine fired up the first time
#13
NSL32 but I dont think it was the R3

And I figured as much, but for some reason I thought about increasing the value...no idea why

Thanks, Madbean!

General Questions / More depth out of the Wavelord
March 24, 2020, 02:42:30 PM
So I find myself having to max out the depth, on the sine and triangle waveforms anyway, the square sounds great though. I can barely hear the depth especially on medium to high speeds(I know that on high speed it's supposed to sound like a ring mod)

I am using the NSL32 instead of the VTL5C9

I don't think so. That's normal for any optical tremolo AFAIK. Your ear hears a square wave at a more intense depth because of the sudden loss of amplitude whereas with a sine or triangle wave the amplitude falls off in a more linear (or logarithmic) fashion. IOW, the gap b/w signal and no signal is much more pronounced with a square wave.

The difference b/w the NSL32 and the VTL5C9 is more about photocell response time (as I described in the doc). The total amount of trem depth between the two should be about the same, I think.

This is why I love the support forum more than a Facebook group, I can be a total noob without people acting all condescending like and actually explain to me properly what is wrong

Thank you for the answer so much and thank you for your fantastic products and support
